It's official!

Well, we got the letter today so it's official. Sasha has been hired by Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. It's about 45 minutes North of Little Rock, has a population of about 50,000, and happily for us appears to have relatively low real estate prices. Woo hoo!

"Woo hoo" indeed!  Congratulations!  ^_^

Suggestion: Little Rock == road trip!

My sister who lived in Arkansas for four years assured me that it is a very nice state.  (I've only been to Fayetteville.)

Congratulations!

Great news! I wish you were going to be closer to New Hampshire...but I'm excited for you both! So...what does "relatively low" prices mean these days when it comes to home prices?

Congrats! The College looks kind of similar to Albion, though a smidgen smaller. I must admit, the Little Rock area was larger than I thought it was.

If we wanted it to, 'relatively low' could mean less than 100K for a house. According to zillow, the median price for a house is 140K, but there are several 3 bed 1-2 bath places for around 90K. We'll probably go for more house rather than lower price, just because I have always wanted enough space to give my hobbies (music and computers) a room of their own.

Congrats to you both!

David, I'm definitely interested in hearing about any job-info you may have...I actually just started sending resumes out for the first time (don't tell my husband, he thinks I've been fruitlessly pounding the pavement for the past 2 weeks) approximately 10 seconds before you commented.

We were very close to moving to Bentonville...My husband had had a bunch of interviews with Wal-Mart, and then his current job here made an offer.  The real estate is crazy cheap.  And it's warm.  Can't beat that.

Uh oh... reading this I got all worried that David might think it would be a good idea to get a corporate job at Wal-Mart (it certainly would be an experience). Thankfully, however, I see that Bentonville is 3 hours away. :)
