To begin with, let me say to everyone included in this list that it exists only to explain to people who don't know you your relationship (present or past) to me. No offence is intended. For those reading this web page for more information on who I'm talking about, please don't think that this quick blurb is even remotely close to a complete description of these folks!

Mara Tynan - Mara and I went to Albion together, then worked at Ford Motor Company together. After my return from Paris, we arranged for a weekly Japanese lesson, and started a tradition of dinner afterwards.
Back

Sarah Coburn - Sarah and I went to Albion together, and although we don't see each other that often we always have great times when we do. Sarah relocates halfway across the country on a yearly basis, but is currently in Atlanta.
Back

Nikki Barr - I worked with Nikki at Unival, the world's most frightening company, on a project that tanked completely. It was fun but kinda painful, and we've kept in touch ever since. She's thankfully moved on, and may or may not be working on her MA at Eastern.
Back

Tammy Jo Coy - One of the only people from high school I still see with any facsimile of regularity. She got married a few years back, and now has three children as well. Tammy is one of those people endowed with an amazingly bright, bubbly personality, and without fail she makes almost any day brighter.
Back

Mike Johnston - Mike and his wife, Sandy have lived next door to my parents for as long as I can remember, and they have always served as sounding boards and grounding agents to keep the home front sane.
Back

Robert Britton - My Nephew - Exactly ten years younger than I, Rob occupies that strange spot between being of a similar age, and being of a completely different generation.
Back

Lisa Dugdale - Lisa and I actually met our Freshman year at Albion, dated for a little while, and later went to Europe together in an attempt to drive each other crazy. We again lived near each other while I was attending grad school at Eastern Michigan, and again when I returned from France.
Back

Sasha Pfau - Sasha was living with Lisa Dugdale when I came back to the states, and we met while I was sleeping on her couch trying to get a job in Ann Arbor. We married in September of 2006.
Back

Jill Warner - I met Jill in Japan, as she was visiting her old roommate with whom I taught. We have periodically kept in touch, as she returned to the states and then moved to Ecuador to teach English, then back to the states and off again to Macedonia.
Back

Melissa Fiebig - Melissa came to Japan during my second year in the country, and we spent a lot of time together while I was in Japan. Melissa is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand.
Back

Jason Allgire - I met Jason while attending Albion College, though we didn't get to know each other until well after, when we both worked at, yes, Albion College. Jason spent several years teaching English (or something) in Egypt. He's now back in the states.
Back

Kim Turner - I met Kim when I moved to Japan, as she lived in the same building as I. We saw each other for most of 2000. Kim is originally from Leicester, England.
Back

Julie Vecchio - I met Julie at University, just before I left for the UK. We dated from 1997 until 2000. Julie is originally from Livonia, Michigan.
Back

Lindsay Vecchio - I met Lindsay while I was dating her sister, and we had a number of common interests. We hang out from time to time, when she can escape from her crazy life (and I can escape from mine).
Back

Trine Drengsgaard - Trine was an English teacher I met in Japan. She actually lived pretty far away, in Karatsu, and unlike many of the English teachers I knew was not part of the JET programme. She now lives in Denmark, which is where she is originally from, and teaches English and art in the Danish school system.
Back

David Rappaport - Dave and I met in college - I think he came after attending a different university, so we only met later, despite being of a similar age. He now has his law degree and as I understand it, his own law practice.
Back

Megan O'Neill - Megan and I went to University together. After Albion she married a Scot (becoming Megan McMillan) and now lives in Sheffield, England. In 2002 she finished her PhD.
Back

Erik Eid - Erik and I met at Albion, he being a year ahead of me. We were the uber-programmer batallion for a while, but only Erik became one. He was in Michigan for a long time, before heading off to do a Master's in Ohio.
Back

Misty Hensley - Misty and I met when I was working at Albion College. She later married Finian McGaffey (and hyphenated to Misty Hensley-McGaffey). We lived near each other a couple of times, and socialized mightily during those periods!
Back

Lucy Fann - Lucy and I met in France, as Lisa and I were waiting for a train. She had run out of Francs so we helped her out and hung out with her in Madrid. Every now and again we get back in touch, as we both live our crazy lives. Most recently, I managed to see her out in L.A. in 2000.

Holly Eck - I met Holly on my semester abroad, during the grand tour of Europe. We've kept in touch ever since, with intermittent random phone calls from strange places and stopovers on the way to somewhere else. Holly is originally from Arizona.
Back

Kevin Herrick - I met Kevin thru Sasha, back when she and I first started seeing each other. She knew him from one of the Ann Arbor co-ops, and later lived with him and some other folks the year I was at EMU in Ypsilanti (2002-3). Now that we're living in Ann Arbor, we go to his place regularly to get our fix of television (and World of Warcraft).
Back

Ryan Lewis - Ryan and I met at college, when he was one of the youngin's who hung out at ΤΩΑΔ back in the day. We lived together in the regenerated ΤΩΑΔ the next year, and have kept in touch (more or less) ever since. At the very least, we see each other at the TOAD reunion. At last check he was working at a newspaper in Western Michigan, and is happily married to another friend from Albion, Issa Beatty (now also Lewis).
