So I installed a new blogging software called pivot, which is a full blown blog authoring tool, which would make every piece of my blog all slick and such. But I can't decide if I should do it - I really like having the total control over my blog that I have. If I implement a blogging software package, it'll go correcting my HTML and such. But it has swanky comments, it can do forums, etc. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery? To see what it looks like, you can have a peek here.

not really sure about changing, there is something original and authentic about how it is now. The alternative, looks like must of the other blogs out there. but it does leave more work for you. adrian

Yeah. That's more or less where I'm at too. I could make all the pages look like the current ones (well, except the comments!) but there would still be cutesy little pictures of talk bubbles next to the comments, and things like that. It's open source, so I could make it my own, but that would be probably more work than making the changes to the current blogging software. I've been giving serious thought to open sourcing this software, and seeing what other people could do with it. It'd be very interesting to see what other folks would do with my crazy mixed up perl scripts.

Yeah, I don't care for it, and really don't like the comments and having to put my email addy for each comment, I like your current system better where I put in my user name and attempt 3 or 4 times to remember the password. All the times I left inane comments, you would think I would remember it...

Would it help if, in addition to the 'use ANON for user and password' prompt, I added something like 'and if this is Nikki, your password is xxxx' to the comment page?

Ahh, David, that is so sweet of you! But you don't have to go to all that effort...
