So I decided the news had to go. It was an experiment, I didn't like it all that much, and now it's gone. In part, I removed it because I read an article somewhere which described the stereotypical blog as having the three column layout. And who wants to be stereotypical?

Maybe you could transform the news feed's data into a menu that pops up when the mouse pointer hovers over a link. I think you can do this with some JavaScript. The trick would be in having the JavaScript read the news feed. [Break] On an unrelated note, I noticed that your entries have titles in the XML version that don't appear in the regular version.

I dunno about the mouseover thing - sounds too high tech for me! Seriously, the whole idea of having something on the page, for me, is that I see it. I use this page, to some degree, as a bookmark page to remind me of things I like to visit. Thus, I wouldn't be reminded if I had to mouse over something. I'll just go to the BBC and all will be well. [break] As for the titles (I wondered if anyone besides me was playing with the XML - not perfect yet, but it's coming along!) I put them in the XML because things go awry if I don't use them there. For the main blog, I don't really care for the boldfaced TITLE followed by subject - I'm not sure I'm ready to consider these random entries as worthy of a title....
