It's been a weekend of good books - I read Guy Gavriel Kay's
Ysabel,
which departs from his usual amazing historical novels to do a story set in the modern age.
It reminded me in many ways of
American Gods,
although I think I caught a higher percentage of the references in this book (or perhaps Kay just explained them better).
I then followed that up with Robin McKinley's
Sunshine,
which gets bonus points for being the most interesting post WWIII book I've read, despite the fact that it has nothing
to do with WWIII and everything to do with vampires. Go figure. (disclosure - I get paid if you use the links to buy something)
